Void in front of battery?

Hi just been doing some wiring for Sat Nav, removed tank in front of battery there is a void am I missing something?

I'd considered moving my battery to the 'void' freeing up some storage space under the tank in the battery compartment but never got around to it.
Did carry a spare air filter there on a very long trip though.

moved my battery forward into the void and used the space for an extra fuse box

How big is the void? Can you see it with the seat off?

Pretty big - bigger than the battery. You need to get the tank off to see.
