Hello everybody

I am new to the world of Harley and I've recently bought a second-hand Electra glide Ultra Classic. Due to my creaking joints and also dizzy spells whilst bending down I am keen to purchase some sort of lifting device to aid maintenance and cleaning (the bike obviously).

After getting advice from the very friendly customers at Harley world Chesterfield I have come across this piece of kit

Has anybody had experience with this actual piece of kit or any other helpful recommendations in respect of other options would be appreciated

If its the type that slides under the engine lifting via the frame tubes, then make sure that in it's collapsed state it fits under the frame.!!!

Mine does not, but it has been lowered..so I have to ride up on blocks first..

If it's this one.

It only lifts from 125mm to 350mm,
how will that prevent stooping and bending down ?

If I needed to lift a glide up to comfortable working height, it would not be anything from the Draper range.
It would be heavy duty and bolted into a solid concrete base.

I've had a bike lift similar to the one your looking at, it's ok for taking wheels off but your still crouched down or sitting on an upturned bucket.
I loaned it to a mate who promptly tipped his bike off it at full lift. ( tit )

My local independent allows me to use one of his ramps these days if needed.

I use the one from Custom Cruisers.... it fits under the frame on my electra glide fine.

I've got the Americana bike lift - works well on my RK and is very stable... More importantly the lowering is gentle, something to watch out for... You don't want a Glide hurtling downwards rapidly.
