THE RIDGEWAY

Does anyone know if The Ridgeway is still open to motor vehicles. I was reading a few old threads where its mentioned that it may get closed to motorbikes and 4 wheel drives .

Also does anyone know if Ivinghoe to Avebury is doable in one day (on a DRZ and not a GS)

Any advice would ve appreciated. TIA

The ridgeway is basically closed to Vehicles until April due to TRO's placed on it. When it does re-open you can not now navigate all the way from Ivinghoe to Avebury.

From Ivinghoe to Streatley is not open to vehicles at all. Streatly to Liddington is navigable but Liddington Hill is now a bridleway and so not open, and neither is Smeathes Ridge, there are diversions around these two stretches on other byways.

Could you do all the way from Streatley to Avebury, yes I would think so but it will be the better part of a day especially as it makes a lot of sense to observe tyhe TRLs voluntary speed limit on such a sensitive route
