Can anyone recommend a battery a 12v battery charger for the above batteries ?

What with the digital camera, MP3 player and some two way radios I seem to be forever recharging the batteries.

I know I could take my mains charger on holiday but I would like to make use of the nice new accessory socket I have had fitted.

Thanks

Clive

Ive got a Uniross one that is both 12v and 240v, Cant remember where I got it from, a camera shop I think, not expensive it only does AA though.

Ditto Uniross.
I too got mine from a camera shop; £20ish & includes 4 AA 2100Mh batteries - mains & 12v (cigar lighter) lead.

I've got a Uniross charger that takes AA/AAA batteries, the holders are sprung loaded. Came with 4 x 1,800mAh NiMH AA batteries, £28 -£30 from Jessops etc.

As these components are readily available from your high street shop, I am guessing that you are looking at this a little deeper.

Be carefull on the type of battery. Make sure that the charger is designed for the Battery type. i.e. NiMH, NiCAD, Li Ion, LI polymer etc. Also, the AA / AAA size relates to size and not milliamp/hour. You want the combination correct i.e. You do not want to set your bike on fire. ( This is not as uncommon as you may think, especially when there is no delta peak cutoff on fast chargers)Where as you can get cheap and cheerful, if you want quality, seek advise and components at a specialist such as Overlander or a good radio control aircraft model shop.

I use a Hahnel charger and 2350 batteries. I was so impressed I have bought quite a few packs of batteries for all the kids toys as well as my own. These are great bits of kit, and will charge four AA batts in about 3 1/2 hours. As this is quite a fast charge, the batts are kept cool by an inbuilt fan. This will look after you batts a treat. It also comes with a 12v cig lighter plug to charge on the move.

They are expensive but worth it. Best deals I found was on eBay and at Digibattery for charger and 8 batts to start with.

The other recommendation would be Ansmann. Again fan cooled and can be charged on the go.

Look here for some other good info. Night time reading only.

Batteries...

I've just bought an AAA/AA Ni-Cd/Ni-MH Battery charger with 4 AA rechargeable batteries (2400mAh Ni-MH batteries) from Global Positioning Systems (08453 454245) product code P1655.

BUT, the deal is... you get another 4 2300mAh Ni-MH rechargable batteries FREE! (code P1653) therefore 8 in total

I'm impressed with the power in my Sat Nav and would therefore recommend...

£18:42 including VAT and p&p

(No, I don't work for them!)

ps... They answer the phone as "Spotlight Guides" not "Global Positioning Systems" etc etc.... don't think you've miss dialed (as I did)

:D

Cont...

.... fogot to say...

The 8 batteries supplied are all AA size... although one can re charge AAA batteries in this charger... but you don't get any!

If anyone is looking for just the batteries Maplin are doing packs of 12 1800 NiMh batteries at €12 - about £7-£8.

Got a pack on Saturday

cont... (again)

... and it comes with a cigarette lighter charger lead as well! :D

(maybe I should work for them  )
