Ignition Off - RID still on

Started (noticed) last night. RID turned off a couple of seconds after ignition off as per usual. But then came on again.

Then went off. Came on Went off. Came on.... etc etc Ranges from 5 to 20 seconds

Wasn't on this morning. But then after parking up at work it's still doing the on off thing.

I disconnected the battery and reconnected. Seemed to have sorted it, but 6 hrs later it's doing it again.

Only mileage and clock showing, and full function whilst ignition on.

What's going on? And can I fix it with just a screwdriver and sledgehammer?

Maybe this thread is dead, but it has me puzzled.

If it's a funny English term for parking light, then I had this happen to me when I tried to swap in an LED for the parking light.
It just wouldn't turn off.

Think they it didn't give the right resistance back to the controller module, so it kept on sending it power.
It's a "soft switch".

But as soon as I added a normal lamp it was fine.

No faults showed up on the GS-911 though.
Very strange.

Rider Information Display.

It was only the mileage and clock coming on - not gears/temp etc. So not "ignition on".

It stopped doing it after a week or so. Soon forgotten. But thanks for reminding me I've got a 10 year old bike full of intricate electronics
