I've got my GS insured with BMW (Equity Redstar) and just asked if I'm covered in Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, they advised Croatia yes but not Slovenia or Bosnia. Any one else had this and what's the way around it, they suggest buying insurance to cover those areas.

You should be covered as standard in EU for Slovenia. You will by EU law have the basic legal coverage. Bosnia - just buy border insurance.

Started looking into this for an upcoming summer trip. I was wondering if the Bosnian border insurance will be worth the paper it's printed on in case of a claim. Or is it just good enough to cover the legal requirment?
