Question : Servicing a GSA with BMW Engine Bars?

To perform the service, does the dealer have to remove the BMW GSA engine bars (I know they undo and split) to perform -

1. Valve Adjustment (looks to me that you can get the covers off without removing)

2. Oil & Filter Change ( I know that the bashplate has to be removed, but do the bars have to come off as well)

Have you ever been charged for removing the standard BMW GSA engine bars and re-fitting them??
 
Just need to loosen/take off the section on the left side(the part with two 10mm bolts and the cross bar nut/bolt) It just stops you getting the oil filter out cleanly. No need to take the whole lot off. Cam covers come off with the bars on, just take off the plastic head protectors. When you put the bash plate back on fit all the bolts first before tightening them all up. No problems.
