You could try either on advrider (http://www.advrider.com), which is mostly North Americans, or else you could also try on the BMW GS Mailing list (which you can sign up to at http://www.micapeak.com/bmw-gs/), which also features several North Americans, and someone from Kamloops, BC. Which I always remember, as it's such a fantastic name.

Always looking on the look out for GS people to ride with around Vancouver.
When you get your bike I'd go for a ride. Would like to try a more roads in the Merrit, Princeton & Kamloops area. It's really nice up there.
I went up to the Yukon last summer with a buddy and would like to go that way again.
