Can't believe there isn't a thread yet that mentions oil...bwa ha ha. Anyone using an oiler and if so, which one? Pros and cons of fitting and model appreciated. Im inclined to forego this as I have a centre stand coming (or so I hope!) mod but laziness always rears it head...scott oiler or torturo?

Have a Tutoro auto on a ktm690 enduro. Used to have a scott vac controller oiler on vfr's before I went GSA.

Tutoro is fantastic, much better IMO than scott and easier to fit and operate.

Called into Tutoro a week ago, couple who run extreamly helpful even with a mate with a non performing non Tutoro oiler which the chap who runs Tutoro fixed while we there there.

A big Thumbs up from me and I am sure my mate.

Like rj I have visited the Tutoro factory in Lydney Harbour. I had one of the first Tracers registered in the UK and he was interested to have a look for the optimum mounting point. We decided on the fitment and he knocked up a bespoke kit. It worked very well for the 27 months I had the bike, still sporting the original chain with 16,000 miles on the bike.

Another recommendation for Tutoro. Bought a basic Auto kit and made the bracketry up myself. Plumbed it in wi a Scottoiler dual injector.

It does about 800-1000 miles between fillips and performs flawlessly!!

Cobrra Nemo gets good reviews and is a good simple oiler.

But, with the cost of chains and sprockets, and traditional chain sprays - There is a case for saying "don't spend money on an oiler - just buy good chain wax and change the chain/sprockets as required".

That might be cheaper.

(I use a Scottoiler Electronic on my XR)

If you only ride in good weather then an auto-oiler is not needed. Ride all year on gritted roads and an auto-oiler makes life a lot easier as the chain self cleans.

Another benefit is not having to adjust your chain in between tyre changes. Again, well worth it for higher mileage riders.

Wessie- I think you are right, although I am still adjusting the chain on my XR (but that might be down to the OEM chain being a bit crap).

I just go for chainwax on my R-1, but it is only used for day and half-day runs.

I've got a scottoiler v system on the SA 1290....seems to work perfectly fine.

I'm a bit OCD when it comes to chain/sprockets, and so far....all seems to be fine with the scottoiler :thumb2
