I've been looking forward to the Hog. for 12 months, since the last one.

I'm going to Edinburgh.
The G8 summit, March Against Poverty.

Every three seconds...

Certain things are part of life.
Your parents will die.

When my Father died, it was a relief, some diseases strip away the person, taint the memory of what has past, leaving a sour taste to memories.
Motor Neuron Disease does that.

But, parent should die before their children.
In Africa that doesn’t happen.

We've all, be honest, we've ALL, at some time said " It would be so easy to..."
So lets.

I want to go to the Hog. but something more important has come up.

i'm asking for trouble here -

Don't be to hard on me -

I'd would have liked to have had more children, i have one son .

But it's all i could afford to have, and raise him without hardship, and without any handouts from the state -

Simplistic, i know . But thats my decision.

I hate politics.
We may have an oportunity to remind them that they work for us!
Remind them of the fancy words they spout.

Tell them to do what we pay them to do!

I don't know, but I don't want to let that oportunity pass.

Steve send us your £25 as theres a shed load of MENCAP members that need A TRIP OUT.

Thinking about it, they will still be there when you return.

There will be HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS there send a few down to WEYHILL.

Have fun, theres always next year or is it G9, if so get TONY not to have it clash with your prior engagemnt.

Will do Rog.
What Steve is doing with the Hog., and Ian with Lahinch is more than most people do.
All of the GS & other bike meets generate a fabulous amount for worthy causes.

I'm just on the rebound from "Girl in a Cafe" and I'm going to Edinburgh in the belief that it "might make a difference" on a larger scale.

Why are we so lucky -
Zimbabwe is next on the starving nation list - who's fault will that be - South Africa veto's every move that europe suggests to help the situation -

Quite right.
Africas problem is not poverty.
It's corruption.

We support that corruption with our apathy.

People in the streets, off their arses, will show the career bureaucrats that we are now watching them.

Getting column inches , and making a load of pampered models and rockstars feel happier about their cushy lives, and pampering their egos.

When Bob stood up, I though, good at least he's doing something. Now he has succeeded in getting right on my tits ....

As some pointed out , 1 million people going to Edinburgh @ 100 GBP per person, that makes 100 mill as starters ....

Put the money you would spend on pretending you are a 60s revolutionery into local carities ...

If debt is written off, corruption will only make sure it is back inplace in the next ten years. the money will only go down the same old roots ..

The West has a way of pushing it's sensibilities onto the emerging world, in a very arrogant way . Africa has a problem, Bob won't solve it. Africa has to , and has to want to.

Agree completely Pieman.

You only have to look at the way the money sent for the Tsunami has disappeared/been misused/got 'stuck' in buraucracy to see that it is much better to give your cash/time to where you know it has done something and is fully accounted for.
