I want to service and clean my shocks and suspension on my 96 1100gs, I've had a look at Haynes manual, but cannot find what grease to use on the steering head bearings also where the telelever joins the block after removing the dust covers there's a C-clip do these have to be replaced or will old do? Also any other tips accepted with thanks

Grease - try that Silkolene red stuff its brill. Used it on all my trail/enduro bikes over the years. They get so covered in cack its hard to recognise whats under there. Powerwash em so much to get them clean the decals all drop off (and a fair bit of the paint) and that bloody grease is still there!

Good stuff, use it on all my road bikes as well.
