Have the oppertunity of an extended hol/work in Narbonne area of southern France. Will be Feb/March time. Any suggestions for accomodation. Hotel to pricy for length of time (8 weeks) and camping no good, need to be smart occasionaly. Whats the chance of off season self catering places?
Any one got any experiance of this, or possibly any other ideas or suggestions. My french is limited but just started a intensive refresher course. So idealy renting from any expats out there would be ideal.

There should be a ready supply of gites before the holiday bookings start around Easter. You will probably still need heating, but you will find many gites have none or have ineffective electric heating which could cost a fortune to run.

You should try www.franceonecall.com (I think they have a linked site specialising in off season lets).

Two sites which only do off season and long lets are www.french-locations.co.uk and www.rentaplaceinfrance.co.uk

Thanks FT. Thats just what I wanted. Should be able to sort somthing from that lot :thumb

Have stayed with a couple called Mick and Hazel Roger both expats near Narbonne a few times, they do B&B and self catering, always friendly and into bikes, give them a ring/email see what they can do. try - hazel_roger@yahoo.com or 0033 468326518
