Oil Drain Plug Allen Wrench Size?

I feel pretty stupid asking :( , but this is my first BMW (R1200GS). I have always owned Japanese bikes, so was caught off guard when I went to change the oil yesterday... Please, what size is the Allen Wrench for the Oil Drain Plug?

he wants to know the wrench size, M16 is a thread size.

sorry, too poor to own a 12 here, but if it's any help i think it's 10mm on an 1150 (from memory).
 
if he's not got the right allen key, i very much doubt he'll own a vernier (or even a steel rule) ;)
 
He'll need to buy a cold chisel, they work on all sizes, metric and imperial! :D
Now you're going to tell me he hasn't got a hammer!
 
So...

...is it 10mm or what? I was hoping that one of you guys who maintain your own bikes could tell me for sure. I am at work and wanted to hit the hardware store on the way home... :(
 
Ok, I get the hint...

...I probably will find use for having an entire set anyway. Isn't that how you always amass a huge amount of tools that you always end up needing anyway? :) Anyway, I will buy a set and post the *exact* size I needed...
