After 85,000 miles and being used as a scratching post by the cat, the seat's splitting. I can live with that, but the water that's soaked into it has been freezing up which isnt so good. Has anyone tried re-covering one themselves with any success?

Can get them covered for you about £35/40 both seats, in congleton.
not to far for you if you want to bring them down, takes 2/3 days depending on work load.

i bought a seat cover kit from motorworks to do a R90S with. i think it came out pretty well.

took relatively ages, but it was fun as i'd never done it before.

Not diy, but FWIW, to have a pro job done, rear seat on my 1100 cost £35 in Sheffield....

Nice job too.... :thumb but makes Les' price good

Get yourself an industrial staple gun and do it in the warm so the covering stretches more easily

yup same as timolgra only i stuck a bit of exta foam in and cut it to shape with electric carving knfe then staple on cover as timolgra says you need a good stapler as the avarage diy stapler dosent go far enough into the plastic

and get loads of bulldog clips to hold it all in place before final fixing.
