Hi, I posted a few weeks back regarding getting to Stockholm for a meeting.

My route out is now:
Harwich-Esbjerg ferry
Blat across Denmark then via Malmo, Hassleholm, Ryd to hotel near Vaxjo. About 600km
Next day via Vetlan, Eksjo and Norrkorping to Stockholm. About 500km

Day and half to get back to Esbjerg by 6pm,
I am tempted by:
Via Vasteras and Orebo to overnight near Motala. Then Jonkoping Varnamo back South West.

Any thoughts/comments welcome - Is Vattern lake worth the motorway? Would via Katrineholm be preferable?

Any fellow tossers going to be on July 16th ferry? - First beer on me!

Cheers and T.F. it's warmed up.

I can give you some recomendations, but it's up to you what you want to see.

If you want nice roads for riding, you can forget Swedish motorways. But you have to remember that small roads take more time compared to motorways.

On the route you have choosen I can recomend road 134 between Eksö and Norrköping.
From Stockholm you preferable go via Katrineholm instead of Västerås and Örebro.
From Motala and south make sure to take the scenic road by lake Vättern and don't forget to visit Vadstena on the way.

Have a nice trip!

Thanks

All programmed in, looking forward to it.
What's the mozzie count likely to be??
What's the highest speed on motorways you would risk before a ticket?

Cheers

Regarding the mozzies. If you stay away from the north part of Sweden and the forests you will be OK.

On the motorways you can go max 10 km/h over the limit before you get caught. You loose the licence if you exceed 30 km/h.
