I want to mount my 2610 on a narrow bar, a bit like this...

attachment.php

I have the Garmin cradle (and numerous standard RAM mounts). What can I use to connect the cradle to the bar?

BWM do a hard nylon block that goes onto the crossbar for about 9 quid.

I've got a peli box on one, but it gives you a flat plate onto which you can mount anything.

One of these:

RAM U-Bolt Adaptor Shim for Handlebar Mount

with one of these:

RAM U-Bolt Mount (Short Arm)
RAM Part: RAM-B-149ZA

could be a solution, :thumb

On to the oval rail, the shim adaptor and u-bolt combo works well and the V in the u-bolt bracket locates into position on the oval rail to give a good mount angle. I favour the short arm these days and if using a RAM cradle then RAM-B-149ZA or if using a Garmin cradle then use a round base as the Garmin cradle picks up on 4 fix hole pattern, though I know a few who still prefer the diamond base and use two from four fix holes, ok on Garmin 2610 cradle , NWS on the Quest cradle.
