Had a bike in today, 1100GS, with a slight oil leak from the bottom of the engine. It was difficult to see exactly where with the sump plate attached.

Expecting it to be the usual corroded sump plug washer, removed the sump plate and had a butchers.

Cracked engine case - Now as this is on an older bike, it could end up as scrap. The costs of repairing or replacing the engine isn't cheap. The crack/split runs from the stand mounting, heading towards the front of the engine. And it emptied the engine of oil in a couple of hours standing here.

Time for an Oyltite Stick from www.frost.co.uk :D :D :D

This leak gets worse as the engine gets hotter - also it runs from the centre stand mount, and i think it's flexing the crack as it's put onto the stand.

I'd try it if it were my bike. But you know those type of fixes never work
