Third place for Simo Kirssi at Mattighofen

What a race! A first-class result for the HP2 Enduro and Simo Kirssi, who was once again able to demonstrate his exceptional talent and the outstanding performance capacity of his motorcycle.

The Flying Finn achieved an outstanding podium place in the final race of the Austrian Cross Country Championships in Mattighofen. Right in the ´lion´s den´ just a few kilometres from the KTM headquarters, the Finn put in an excellent start and was always up in the leading group throughout the race.

The technically highly demanding circuit in Mattighofen included long stretches of narrow forest path riddled with roots and stones. In front of a large crowd of race fans, Kirssi controlled his BMW HP2 Enduro with enormous concentration and perseverance around the winding track, once again showing the potential of the big enduro bike in difficult conditions.

However, on the last steep climb two lapped riders were blocking his path and Bernhard Walter - until then in third place - managed to overtake him. The multiple German enduro champion Sascha Eckert once again lined up as the second HP2 rider. He struggled more than Kirssi with the winding track and finished the race in 15th place.

Yeah, 100kg weigting EXC450 1st and 95kg weighting EXC250 2nd. The factory KTM 950 Super Enduro R got lapped by HP2 last time if it tried to take part from the same competition in the professional class, ... and after that the facory 950SE has never entered the same competition again when the HP2 is racing on the same track :D

What's the point in using the 950SE when they can field bikes with 1/3 and 1/4 the power of the HP2 and still whip it's fat arse ?

:D :D :D :D :D

They already whipped official factory SE's arse

:D :D :D :D :D

BTW Simo should have been 2nd if the few slow lapped KTM bikes haven't blocked his way before the finish line.

Why the HP2 races CC it is acctually for it's own class, the current CC series have no regulations and class for the big twins so it has to stick in the professional class altough they have 7 different classes. After the HP2 entrance in the beginning of 2005, the official KTM wanted to race the professional class with their 950SE and got their asses kicked by the HP2s, and nobody has seen them again after that ;) :D
