Hi all,
Did a bit of offroading with some friends today (bank holiday here), I find that riding standing up, I am either stooped forwards or I have to bend my knees more than is comfy. I am a heavy, 5.11, bike, pd. I have seen ads for risers and new footrests. What has anybody else done?

Try fitting Dakar handle bars they are higher and about 65 euro in Bike World.

Bar risers.

Try bar risers also add another 1" to 1 1/2" from Touratech or other supplier or get someone to make them from aluminium.

No experience of lower pegs.

Know what you mean ...

Recently fitted 35 mm risers under stock bars on PD. Improvement in comfort - both sitting and standing - remarkable.

Also fitted Fastway pegs: only 10 mm lower (every lttle helps), but increased width (fore and aft) eases pressure on soles when standing for long periods.

Now have approx 885 mm vertically between bars and pegs on PD. By comparison, 'factory' XR650R rallye racer has approx 910 mm, and is very comfortable for standing.

Is there a web site for Fastways? and are they still available for the pd?
Thanks,

I've got some risers for you, 25 or 35 mm, and lower pegs too.

The risers are in the shop already, the pegs are in my garage but not online yet.

They look like this:

They are stainless steel, lower and wider than stock.

I'll be putting them online later today.

Cheers,
Michel

Me too . . . .

. . . I could well be tempted by some lower pegs.

I like the look of the pegs - how much lower are they?
They are about 30 mm lower and 10 mm wider.

I didn't get it done yesterday, sorry, I'll put them in the shop tonight.

Cheers,
Michel

If you can provide me with the correct drawing, I can have some made for you Rob.
I've got GS forks in my G/S, so I can't measure them myself any more.

Cheers,
Michel

Alright then, I won't. I'd love to know how to do that myself by the way!

Can you tell us the (approximate) horizontal displacement from stock pegs?
I just tried to measure that, it's about 40mm.
