We are heading to Toronto in September and want to hire a bike for a couple of weeks.. all I can find so far are Customs or Plastick rockets! when what I realy want is a tourer........... can anybody help?

FWIW I rented a pan euro from cycleBC in 2005 and they were fine to work with. I think they were a bit surprised to see 4000k on the clock after 4 days! Most bikes seemed to be hired for posing duties only.
Mind you, Vancouver is a long way from Toronto!!
