Planning a run down the Atlantic Coast of France later this year picking up the coast around St Nazaire (done the U boat pens) probably down as far as Biarritz. Any must sees enroute? Good places to stay?
Ideas gratefully received.

Isle de Oleron - just next to La Rochelle. Small island, fantastic seafood if thats your thing.

Arcachon - the largest sand dune in Europe - about the only thing worth seeing on the leg between Bordeaux and Biaritz. To be honest, after Brittany, the whole of the atlantic coast of France is a bit of a let down until you get to Biarritz. You would be much better blitzing down and then spending more time in the Pyranees. IMHO
