    I managed to break my hook when I tried a similar method to remove mine. I didn’t really have enough repair washers.
    I got round this by putting a small shackle in the hook hole and pulling on that....

    Bottom cleaning.....

    Does anybody have a good technique for cleaning the aluminium castings at the bottom of the fork legs?

    Iím using alloy wheel cleaner and a soft wire brush but itís not perfect by any means.
