But am confused about what 'mod's' I need to do... if any.

It's a 2002 1150 GS.

The bike used to have a Y piece and remus can (sold by the previous owner) so now has CAT and OE exhaust back on.

1) Would it be likely that the previous owner made any mods to run his y piece and can and if so how do I check if he had - what am I looking for.

2) If he's not done anything, what mods should I do if I am fitting a Y piece (with OE can)

Thanks folks.

Yep, have done, but couldn't find a definitive answer...

I know there are "CCP" dallyings I need to do, but am a bit flummoxed... maybe I'm tired.

I'm not lazy, honest!

Thanks John, I'll check it out.

Also, I do remember the previous owner telling me the bike was 'chipped' if this makes any difference.

I assume it a performance chip, but not being terribly mechanically minded, I don't really understand what that means.

It would be easiest to ask them where the "chip" is, rather than you pulling the bike to bits, or paying someone else to do it. IMHO ;)

Look in the fuse box under the seat. Anything funny going on there? Wires and spade ends etc? Extra black boxes of any sort hanging about?

If not - should be a stock bike. Where in Surrey RU - can do a compare and contrast in you want?

Hey Bigtwin - Im in Chertsey, just down the road (kinda).

I'll take a look under the seat, but not 100% what I'm looking for..

Hello Gabriel.

If you haven't already bought a Y piece try just taking the can off the back.

Check out "cat with no can" thread. A number of people have fitted a Y piece and aftermarket can then removed it again because of noise and popping on the over-run.

Just try it without the can and see what you think. No known risks and it will go straighthrough the MOT without any problem.
