Hi,

Apoligies with ref to newbie question.....

I have just bought an 1150GS with system pannier rails and will be looking for a second hand set of system panniers...

Will panniers from say an RT or RS fit?? or should i just stick to ones that have come from a GS?

All comments gratefully received (even "don't be a T$%T"

The right hand pannier is identical on all the bikes you mention.

Unfortunately you need a 'smaller' GS pannier on the left to fit around the silencer.......unless you go to the expense of lowering the pipe.

There is currently a set of system boxes (all 3) on e-bay. Might be worth a look.

Yes very intrested, although i have just put a bid in for the ones on ebay.. this is due to finish on Sunday.... i'm sorta commited now i've bid but may lose/get out bid... please pm me what you are looking for price wise... or post here if you prefer.... i see your "handle" is a bike that fits,.... I'm 6' 8"....
hence the reason i've bought a GS... still ride my Daytona 955 though...

Could be intresting if we ever meet at an event...... would be strange looking somebody in the eye whilst stood up!!!
 
I would recommend one of Bryn's 'Stubbies' (if you have a cat fitted..) then go for two full size panniers..

does it fit?

I'm 6'5 and have had to raise the seat by a shade over three inches AND raise the bars to make my bike comfortable... I preferred the idea of a taller seat to lowering the pegs.;)

I'm 6' 7" :eek: - I think it would be the case of them looking us in the chest!

RT L/H pannier doesn't fit at all.

Nothing to do with with the silencer cut out, the mounting points are in completely different places so it's no good fitting a different pipe or one of Bryns stubbies.
 
Thanks Steptoe, i'll stick to trying to find a pair of GS cases....

Panniers still for sale?

Hi - are you selling panniers, if so for how much? Rails included? I have rails and fittings except for the spacers which Motorrad tell me are £2.70 each so no big deal if you don't have the rails.

You're partly right Mr S.. but it's not hard to knock this sort of thing up..
