mono / para exhaust question

The length of the tail pipe section is different between the Mono and Para. The Sito just ignores this and you get what you get.

I think the Para rear silencer has an extra 'rubber bush mount thing' fixed to a little right angled bracket close to the tail pipe and this is not present on the g/s. Not so many OE systems around now

the para rear silencer is bigger (and heavier) than the mono one

para seems to use 2 from what I can see.

The 2nd one (count third if you count the bottom mount at the footpeg) on my para is just a rubber to support the frame. So yeah I also think it is only the length. oh and the mounting for the side cover too.

Was the question - would they interchange , or could the be made to fit.

The G/S has a different sub frame to the GS so it is unlikely they would bolt straight up.

However, if you were able to unbolt the brackets it wouldn't be much of a job to make something that would fit.

My G/S Staintune muffler fits my old OEM GS collector so I don't think there would be a problem at that point.

Interchange rather than bodge. :rob

nobody has designed a better exhaust system for an airhead than BMW - not my view - that's what the experts say

My Laser ProDuro is definately better than the BMW version .... just my 2d worth as it sounds ten times more of a motorbike than the standard silencer:D
Recommended if you want something different:thumb2

AND the R100GS passed her MOT today :beerjug:

Rob, Went to look at a V8 Land Rover today. Would have bought it but bodywork needed to much attention ( Galv chassis etc though ):D

Airhead staying...my 1100 is a better bike but the old airheads still do it for me :bounce1

V8 Landy :drool

Just bought an AWD Volvo so the Landy madness has passed for now but still lurks in the shadows ready to rise at any time...

We were bored with the airhead exhaust thing 2 minutes after you posted it. Now v8 Landies is another thing completely :rob
