Funnily enough I seem to start every report with an apology for the delay... :duno

Well, this time my excuse is that I was too busy taking Possu into the bushes today... :eyebrow

... and making jam.
188633252-M.jpg

24 jars of Blackberry, Bramley Apple & Elderberry preserve...

If you are ever in Oxfordshire...

A glorious finale to an absolutely brilliant weekend. Ok, back to the start...

Arrived Friday night after work at Lumb Farm - great location (albeit a bit slopy...) with good facilities. :thumb2
188114212-M.jpg

(Yes, the photo was actually taken on Saturday, but it fitted quite nicely as an introduction... ;) Noel & Kerry in the left bottom corner)

Had a very enjoyable evening chatting to old and new mates and went to bed a bit later than intended... :mmmm

Queuing up for breakfast on Saturday morning
188096975-M.jpg

My first attempt asking the fellow tossers to "look nice" for the camera. Almost successful with everybody... Is this the famous British humour, Thunder?
188096536-M.jpg

Gathering for the Off Road run - Liz, the brave lady who puts up with Flipfly day in, day out... :bow
188097426-M.jpg

You are a lucky man, Phil. And you know it...
188097790-M.jpg

Contrary to his own forecast even our favourite hog-raoster made it to the event :clap
188098168-M.jpg

Briefing at the start of the first lane
188098603-M.jpg

Jaber counting his sheep - 24 we were!
188098980-M.jpg

And everybody made it to the hilltop in one piece - Packer was chuffed
188099805-M.jpg

Lovely countryside you have in Derbyshire...
188099376-M.jpg

Oops, where are the other 21 riders?
188100553-M.jpg

Liz & Flipfly making themselves comfortable on the village square
188100919-M.jpg

While the others headed straight into the Queens Head Café. Lovely place - more info here
188101466-M.jpg

Squid, Packer, Wayne & Karl (l2r) looking as nice as possible...
188101834-M.jpg

Great service - the chef looks after his customers personally here
188102564-M.jpg

At some point we were all reunited again... :augie
188102187-M.jpg

... and off we went. Baronlebon in full swing (a bit too fast for my camera...)
188102857-M.jpg

Zedzed smiling from one ear to the other
188103094-M.jpg

What a beautiful couple - Flipfly and Liz (Tuned In closing in)
188103357-M.jpg

Here they are again on the next lane
188103638-M.jpg

Sorry, didn't get the name of this fellow... :nenau
188103989-M.jpg

It's either my camera or me - one of us is too slow... :mmmm The rider in front of Jaber should have been in the centre of this photo
188104243-M.jpg

Almost failed again...
188104526-M.jpg

Spout on his HP2
188104891-M.jpg

Wayne out of focus - same camera (or user...) failure here
188105179-M.jpg

Karl on his HONDA  - followed by faithful tail end John
188105544-M.jpg

Gathering for a cracking downhill trail ahead
188106065-M.jpg

Let's see if I get the names right - left to right: Sid Horman, Flipfly, Robnob, Packer & Zedzed (phew...)
188106568-M.jpg

Did I mention the stunning countryside? Robnob certainly appreciated the view
188106962-M.jpg

Group picture on top of the world, err, the quarry...
188107200-M.jpg

Sure you have seen this from the other side... ;)
188107592-M.jpg

Should really come up here more often.
nod.gif

188108107-M.jpg

Well, at the end of the day this is what it is all about with that off roading stuff... :augie
188108475-M.jpg

Somehow we were down to 13 riders in the afternoon... :nenau But the rest was still looking nice :D
188108776-M.jpg

John, Jaber, Sid, MickDB1, Sorry & Packer
188109032-M.jpg

Baronlebon, Sorry2 (don't take it too personally... :mmmm), Squid, Karl, Wayne & Zedzed
188109315-M.jpg

And the heather was in bloom - what more can you ask for?
188109776-M.jpg

Thank you, MikeDB1, John & Jaber, for a glorious day on the trails! Great lanes and loads of fun! :clap :clap :clap Unfortunately all the excitement seemed to happen behind me, this is why there are no 'real' action photos here... :D

Back at Lumb Farm the sky was still incredibly blue
188110412-M.jpg

'D' - by far the most gorgeous male at the whole event
188096191-M.jpg

Sorry, boys... :mmmm
188113364-M.jpg

Just one more - aaaaah...
188113846-M.jpg

Mmm, the next time I say "look nice" you breath in, ok? Nick Marshall and Jim Elderfield paid us a brief(ish) visit
188110114-M.jpg

Perfectly dressed for the occasion and thoroughly enjoying herself: Melanie Cheeks, the Sultana of Bling
188114534-M.jpg

And then there was the Surf Competition - Packer still smiling
188115421-M.jpg

Tipping over at 27 and a half seconds...
188115118-M.jpg

Should have taking a video - you should have seen the swivelling hips of our Duchess live...
lickout.gif

188114810-M.jpg

Who has won the contest, btw?

JustStan having fun
188115780-M.jpg

What did you think a bride wears under her dress? :D
188116193-M.jpg

Oops, just realised how late it is late already - more tomorrow in my lunch break...

Ela

Good report so far and lovely pics Ela. :clap :clap

BTW, that wasn't Tuned In closing in on the 1100. The Prince of Darkness rides a black 1100 and looks like the Grim Reaper. :reaper

Great piccies Ela, thank you once again.

Finally got some good pics of Mrs Flip on her bike :thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

Hope the tank bag is OK.

Lovely pics, Ela

I did the road run - as usual with the rallies I end up wishing I had been able to do all three runs.

I know what I will be doing next year

TP:D

Some greta pics Ela. Thanks for making the effort:thumb2

The jam looks good too!

Don't worry about getting some of the names wrong........

I'm sure some of them couldn't have got their own names right by about three o'clock Sunday morning:nono. By the way it was Squid on the red 1100.

:clap

Always a good read Ela, I so look forward to your reports .... great pictures too.

:thumb2

See you soon x

It's about time that I continue with part II... Thank you for all your kind words and apologies for my bad memory again... :mmmm

No proper excuse for the delay this time, just been a bit busy this week - oh, and Possu made an Apple & Blackberry Crumble yesterday... :augie
189404247-M.jpg

We are now approaching the potentially embarrassing part of the evening, starting with the appearance of Mr Bollox and the raffle
188116604-M.jpg

Jaq and Oblertone waiting for their numbers to be called
188116922-M.jpg

I was chuffed that my ticket was the first to be drawn. :kissy2 Oh well, if you ask nicely I might lend you my new headlamp the next time you have to pitch your tent in the dark...
188117312-M.jpg

That's brotherly teamwork - Wayne buys the tickets and Karl collects the prizes... :D
188193206-M.jpg

Wow, what a kiss... Hey, Bryn, could you draw one of her numbers again?
188118104-M.jpg

And here, again: it's Karl's birthday but he hands over his presents to Wayne... :nenau
189739754-M.jpg

The poor band was giving their best...
188123979-M.jpg

... but most people seemed to need some orally administered remedies to lose their inhibitions...
188119160-M.jpg

... before they started to dance - not so Lucy :clap
188119622-M.jpg

Soon Oonyack joined in - although he can't hide where he's coming from...
188120040-M.jpg

Back to the lost inhibitions: "Woody, there is something I wanted to tell you for a long time..."
188120495-M.jpg

But Woody seems to prefer the fairer sex
188122136-M.jpg

In the end they somehow arranged it among themselves and Jamie was happy again... phew...
188123495-M.jpg

Does anybody recognise the guy behind Lucy?
188123048-M.jpg

The band gathered momentum...
188183126-M.jpg

And so did the crowd
188187311-M.jpg

Oonyack hadn't given up on teaching us the Highland Fling
188113103-M.jpg

Which was countered with some traditional English movements (Morris dancing?)
188187700-M.jpg

Sharon and Lucy tried some line dancing - Young Matthew Spikehammer was not allowed to turn his head
188185415-M.jpg

Or maybe he was just distracted by another ménage à trois...
188184780-M.jpg

Every inch a lady, Jill managed to keep a straight face
188185656-M.jpg

Then Jamie, Woody and Liz started to sing...
188186205-M.jpg

Mustang Sally...
188185920-M.jpg

Guess you better slow your - err - Mustangs down...
188186512-M.jpg

Oops, that last twang killed the microphone on various mobiles...
188186895-M.jpg

And as the night progressed the movements of the dancers became more experimental
188189173-M.jpg

188189550-M.jpg

Hope Isabelle didn't get the wrong impression of her dad's fellow tossers...
188188798-M.jpg

Then it was almost midnight and Lucy's birthday was nigh - before opening her present she had to sing for us though...
188190311-M.jpg

Stop it, Woody! We know exactly what you think... :eyebrow
188190973-M.jpg

No, you can't borrow my new bra - you have absolutely nothing to fill it with...
188191338-M.jpg

The belt might fit though
188191680-M.jpg

Mmm, as the Boss is present, we'd better behave... :augie
188191969-M.jpg

Let's pay Bryn our tribute for all his efforts instead!
188192357-M.jpg

The victim clearly appreciated this expression of gratitude...
188192742-M.jpg

But while we are here - thank you so much, Bryn and Lyn! The second East Midlands Do was an absolutely fantastic event and I can't wait for the next one in 2008. :clap :clap :clap
188118778-M.jpg

Even though the only people vaguely awake on Sunday morning seemed to be Proff and his (far) better half Barbara... :augie
188193490-M.jpg

See you all again soon! Thanks for your company and all the fun we had!

:wave:wave:wave

Great pictures Ela and hats off to you for making such a concerted effort to get everyones names as well.:clap

I'm so lazy in comparison, I only took one photo and that was on my phone. Check out the tyres though at the end of my trip home:thumb

I may make the trip to Oxfordshire to sampe the jam although Possu's crumble looks even more attractive:bounce1

Just learnt about the rarity of this sight... :augie

190113583-M.jpg

Sorry, Paul... But you do look very nice! :D

I saw something like that lying outside Lord Snooty's tent on the sunday morning.

Guess that happened when your friends dragged you past on the way to your own tent the night before? :augie

188188392-M.jpg
