I have replaced the std 1150gs rear end to an adventure one. I have the rear fitting for the bmw system top box on the std rack i removed. Can this fitting be fitted onto the adv rear rack? so i can use the top box again or is there a special fitting for the adv rack?

I also have a prob with the bolts on the top box fitting they are seized solid onto the rack and the brass inserts are now turning, how do i get the bolts out without damaging the fitting ive tried to drill one out but its as hard as hell. Any help please

I wanted the BMW System case equivalent top box for my GS Adventure as well, but as far as I know, no mounting plate from BMW was available for it.

You can try mounting the rack off your standard GS. I'm not familiar with its construction but maybe you can line up existing holes or drill new ones as required. You might have to make some stand-offs.

I know I didn't want the Hummer look that the Adventure top box provided and chose to go with a GiVi E52 Maxia providing lots of room.

This is what it and the rack I made ended up looking like...

I guess I should have added the following since its an option.

Make a plate similar to mine with the shape of your BMW top case mount and then mount it to the plate.

How-to info.
