Can anyone recommend place to stay St Petersburg?

Just trying to book somewhere in St P end May beginning June for a week. I've looked on the Hostel website and narrowed it down to 3 possibles but am still waiting for a reply from Nordhostel on price/availability (their website doesn't show cost of a double room) . Sharing in a dorm with strangers is not for me! If anyone can recommend anywhere cheap, relatively clean and particularly with fairly secure parking for the bikes I'd be very grateful.
