The frozen lake looks like the resevoir on the Italian side of the St Bernadino pass :nenau , there's a little village on the far side of it, I've never understoood why anybody would want to live there. Yes it's very beautiful but the weather up there :eek:

In fact the lake is on the Stelvio, but everything else you say is spot on.
