Seeing times are tough it seemed only right that a member of the Irish contingent hopped on a ferry (not fairy Garfield settle down ) and bolster the local economy by attempting to drink Syco dry in the Smirnoff department. I think I succeeded!
Arrived in slightly moist and cold Birkenhead on Friday morning and headed down to Vern's, the heavens opened on the way there but copious coffees and a blow heater soon had us dried out.
Soon after my arrival the sun put in an appearance as did Kenny and Neil23 (aka 5 pints).
We discussed the various topics, Obama's presidency, the credit crunch, just how big a set of lights you could get on a GS.
But most of all the dyslexic stonemason who had his business next to Vern's
After more coffee and a cheery wave Neil and I headed south for Brosley, Vern had a tear in his eye and Kenny a look of relief as all the bits still seemed to be fitted to his g/s which was staying at Project VND.
We had booked into the Lion Hotel about a 10 minute walk to the main event
secure parking
massive breakfasts
and alternative Tosser transport just over the road
