Tornado warning issued for North Wales
Friday, May 15, 2009
By Dan Scobie, Daily Reporter Staff

Areas west and south of Colwyn Bay are expecting severe weather for Friday night.
The National Weather Service in Cardiff, Wales issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northwestern Conwy, Denbighshire and eastern Gwynedd at 12:15 p.m. Meteorologists were concerned about golfball-size hail with the system. The cell was located near Anglesey when the warning was issued.
A tornado warning was issued for the area eight minutes later, with specific cautions for the cities of Betws-y-Coed, Llangollen and Ruthin. The warning was originally set to expire at 6:15 p.m., but was extended until 6:45 p.m. for the region. The areas of Bala and Llandudno were included in the update.
Further details are anticipated later on in the day.

Golfball sized hail sounds like a profoundly good reason to wear helmets on the pub crawl.

Just been out to fuel the bike for tomorrows rideout, thunder, lightning, hail flooding and torrents of rain, see you later folks.

Rain

Well just been eating my evening meal, watching the rain pouring down outside..Being only 19miles from llangollen I am hoping the campers have come prepared.

One band of rain came through very heavily and just heard on the television they have severe weather forcasts out for tonight and tomorrow.

I think I should have fuelled the bike today too,, dough!. Will have to put some in on the way over tomorrow.
