Big up to those lads - Speilberg look out the quality and composition excellent - thanks for posting - best I've seen

Absolutely stunning !! Brilliant :thumb :bow :bow

As was said by BegesRus - Move over Speilberg

Thanks for that :clap :clap

damn that was outstanding.....:bow:bow:bow

I remember so many of the shots like they were yesterday and I remember 'that' river crossing where Chris dinged his leg....little bit frightening for sure....:comfort

well done guys....:beerjug:

Well done, seeing it on video shows just how tough the journey was, photo's can never convey that. Worth missing the last hour of work to watch it all.
Good choice of music fitted in well.

Can't stop watching these! Should be working :blast:blast

Farmboy, wouldn't mind knowing what equipment you used for filming and editing...:D

Now then,

Overwhelmed by the response so far, thanks must go to Pete for having the time and Bandwidth to get it all downloaded :clap

It really goes to show what is achievable for the everyday bloke or blokess who wants an adventure. This was by no means a big budget trip or production, just two blokes with camcorders, ordinary jobs, basic skill levels and understanding partners. :hug

The kit used was as follows:

2 year old JVC GZ 130 Everio Hard Drive Camcorder costing about £250
A tripod and Monopod £20
Ulead Videostudio 11 £15 in 2007 so probably about a fiver now

I had no idea about Ulead Videostudio until I bought it, It just looked pretty easy to use so I thought that will do, And as long as you have the footage you can do a decent job. I am no expert believe me so anyone could use it with a bit of practice.

Chris

I'm amazed!!! 307 views and only 9 replies!!!! Typically British may I say...
:nenau:nenau:nenau

A ride report to the corner shop seems to get more response on here.....

Shame on Y'all...

This is really very good

AWESOME :clap:clap:clap

Indeed, just what we all imagine doing but very few get around to it.
Well done.
Just started with the last vid which promptly coincided/caused my computer to crash, so just remind me again, how big was that beach you were riding on??

very very watchable video. well done with the editing.
i would love to do that someday.

just one thing, i know its all worth it but what was the total damage to the bikes? paintwork, frame etc?

just calculating costs;)

damages

Hi,

on my GS there was no damage at all,(well one dent underneath right pannier) i know the video looks like we crasch every 5 minutes but out of maybe 4-5 times i let the bike go, only once was on the rocks :) . the rest happened on sand and at slow speed :)

Good advise - aluminum panniers maybe hevy on the trip like that but they protect well :)

Pete

My Bike was immaculate before It went, got a bit dirty in the middle bit and when I got back it became immaculate once again.

There is one very very small chip on the top of the tank where the bars came round and hit the tank, Its tiny and can be sorted out easily.

Apart from that the bike is mint once again without a scratch anywhere.

The only dents or marks are to the Panniers, which is to be expected and doent bother me in the slightest and makes them look slightly better IMO

The best thing you can do to protect the bike is a good bashplate, aluminium barkbusters, aluminium panniers.

anything else is optional

Its protecting yourself that is slightly trickier

What about a Meet somewhere, Anyone who has access to a big front room and a massive telly and an even bigger fridge get in touch and we can make a night of it  as long as there is some camping nearby where we can pitch up fro the night

My place is definately out, its the smallest room in Yorkshire and thats Official

I am certainly not in it for the money. but a donation to my registered Charity ( Yorkshire Cancer Care ) would be secure a copy after we sober up

Awesome awesome awesome. A fantastic video of a fantastic trip.

Put it on DVD, get it on eBay and make some money (for charity) :thumb

I'd buy it.
