Blackcock Inn nr Molland - Recommended
I cannot remember how I stumbled upon this place other than I was looking for a campsite with a pub.
Along with a host of other events the trip was a victim of Covid 19 restrictions and was rescheduled a number of times.
Entering the postcode in my SatNav took me to a farm, the pub wasn’t too much further on the same road. On arrival I presented myself at the pub who told me where the camping pitches were, there was some with electric but we didn’t bother.
We were the only tents, most others seemed to be semi permanent with very little activity. Toilets and showers were old but working and clean.
The pub served basic evening meals, very nice but not massive, good value for money, well kept beer.
Three of us stayed for two nights and paid £20 each for the camping, £20 and £24 each for dinner and drinks, all very reasonably priced. I think we had three pints each the first night and four the second.
The only downside was next doors cockerel kicked off about 0400.
I contacted them through Facebook messenger and their communications are hap hazard, but very welcoming and would definitely use the site again.
The tarp came from Wapping, great bit of kit, thanks.
