Thank You

As has been said elsewhere, all the right people turned up and another great weekend happened. If I hadn't gone I'd be annoyed with myself :chickendance

Thanks to Bakes and the army of purple slaves :bow

Well done Steve and team :clap in spite of the weather I had a great time as with all previous hograosts. When I rolled off the ferry and was met with a wall of water (otherwise known as the A20/M20) and then the carpark (otherwise known as the M25) and arrived at the rice paddy fields of Andovershire, I must confess there were moments when I doubted my own sanity but on rolling up one of the first people I saw was Steve and when he smiled broadly and said ' If you can make it there is know excuse for anyone else not coming' I knew I was in the right place. A hot cuppa and a doughnut (or 2) later and the tent went up and from that moment on the weekend was a blast.

Interestingly, as soon as I boarded the ferry home on Sunday afternoon, the clouds parted, the sun came out and stayed out all the way back to Belgium. I sat out on the top deck with my wet bike gear spread around me and basked in the sunshine and the memories of another great Hograost! :bow

A big thank you and all due credit to Steve for all his, and his family, friends and acquaintances, efforts to make the weekend what it was, despite some of the worst weather ever.
For those that couldn't make it, chose not to come, or had other commitments, you missed a cracking good weekend. Friends old and new, superb entertainment and a warm dry place to socialise, meant we didn't really notice how bad the weather actually was. I'm well chuffed that enough of us made the trip to support Steve's efforts and that the reward was breaking better than even. Given the rain i'm surprised to hear we came out on top, but we did. Who knows how big the weekend would've been with a full turn out???
Next year, whatever the weather, get yourselves to Andover... it'll be fantastic!

Thanks to Steve and his family for a great weekend

Cheers
Eddie

Thanks Bake's. :thumb2 Your reward shall come in the next life. :bow

The weather was crap, the band was crap and my mates were crap. :p I look forward to doing it all again with the same ingredients next time. :friday

Sent him a PM to explain himself ? I have not spoken to him for over a year so find his comment a little strange.

But maybe thats the reason to stay away with people like him.

Sorry Mike,

It was a bad attempt at an ironic joke. I hope I have not offended you and I apologise. It'd be better you were there in person rather than in name alone.
I'll buy you a pint when I see you next and offer you my hand. :friday

Further apologies to everyone for tarnishing this thread.

It was a good gig.

Plus, as someone who had never camped until the late great Motörhead talked me into coming to this event in 2008 I have to say if there's anyone out there that doesn't attend for the same reason, you don't know what you're missing so please just come and try it next year, I'm sure you'll enjoy it like I have for the last 4 I've now done :D

A splendid weekend, and great to catch up with old & new tossers...:thumb2

Thanks to Steve & Team for their usual excellent efforts....:clap

A special thx to Eddie for allowing me to have a dry nights sleep...:bow

I got fecking soaked again on the way home, but thanks to the 'drying rooms' @ Andover RFC, and my being led astray to purchase new gloves, I was as dry as a bone on returning home...

However, next year I'm going turn up in this bad boy....maybe....:D
