back to bike holiday
Tearing ourselves away from the festival, which had two more days to go, but no hotel rooms (we were very lucky to get a room for one night), we set off east back to Annecy.
Why? Weather forecast was better for that area... and I was trying to sneak back up to the mountains ... tee-hee-hee.
We headed to St Jean en Royans, staying well south of Lyon (because its a big city, and big cities are all the same).
Now, the knowledgeable amongs you might think, thats where the col-du-machine is .... and he has been there as well this year.
True ... but I never saw it properly .... and didnt go back to it anyway. Stayed in lovely room in St Jean for the night. A bit dead compared to the previous night, but hey-ho ... one needs ones rest ... well, Louise did. Sleeps more than a cat, that woman.
Back to Annecy where the weather was lovely, and the roads heading there even better.
A pass from Lac Du-Bourg (where the porsche vid was took) was great, and the relaxing swoopy bit after it just as nice in a different way.
Got to Annecy and booked into same hotel.
Nobody noticed!!
At least I wasnt the only sad single bastard roaming about town anymore. I had a partner with me. I was a couple. So we could sit outside a posh romantic restaurant together. Chatting, watching the world go by and drinking wine.
Nope .... we got a pizza, because Madam wasnt hungry. Still sat outside with a Picher of vino though.
Took lots of 'in the dark' photos again ...so must have been half pissed!
Next day, just up the road to Dijon.

No its not. Ive just looked oot the window and its sunny again.
Flew up the Autoroute, just because we could, to Dijon. So no nice vids or pics.
Got a room and went out for dinner.
A place named the 'cow ????'. cant remember. Right next to what looked like the fancy glass fish market building.
I got the mixed grill. Now, as you know, a mixed grill is normally disgustingly good and hearty, but this one was not.
It was small and only had three bits of meat on a skewer , some salad, and a bucket of chips.
But the meat was out of this world !!! Louise is a good cook. She is ... honest.
Dya know when you watch these chef progs on the telly, and they rave-on about something special. And you cant understand what they are on about.
Well there are no words to describe this. A bit steak, a bit duck and a sausage thing. All of them orgasmically good. Now I know.
Next day, back west to the second weekinagite in a place called Montillot in Burgandy ... or Bourgoine ... (I think) as the rest of the world calls it.
Via Beaune and the 'wine road' which is going south again, but it couldnt be missed.

Sorry for the tit size .... but they only 'look' small in that video.
If you look at the tarn gorge vid, they are much better sized, and do a bit jiggling. That film is also longer, so you will not have to keep one handed rewinding.
That film might suit your needs better
