What makes it 40k ?

What makes it 40k ?

Apart from, IMHO, being one of the best looking Guzzis ever built, it’s a ltd edition factory race bike MGS-01.
They were based on the old Daytona engine but with fancy internals and increased to 1200cc. I think they put out around 120bhp.

This one has a daylight MOT and has only been used at shows and stuff so hardly any miles......

Whether you consider any motorcycle to be worth that is a mute point; personally I don’t get the ‘collector’ stuff, somebody should be riding it and getting some miles on it otherwise it’s a waste of a great bike and an insult to those that built it.

Bollox, I just added it all up. Now I'm going for a small cry.

Only a small cry?

I don’t know what miles the bike has done (you’ve probably said somewhere) but it’s nice to see it being restored irrespective of cost - I certainly couldn’t do it. It’s also good to know that it’ll get used.

Thanks Chas, apologies for crashing this thread, I’ve continued on the build thread.

£40k !!? There was one for sale on autotrader at a place near Silverstone 5-6 years ago and I’m sure it was under a smidgeon over 20k oh how I wish I could have afforded it.

I've never owned a Guzzi but hope to do so one day, there is just something about them that keeps drawing me in. The heritage, style, looks and character.

I've seen this beauty for sale and it is only about 30 odd minutes away in Worcester - thank fuck the dealer is closed at the moment:rolleyes: as the temptation might be just too much and I would have a lot of explaining when 'er indoors finally gets back from Russia:blast

Anyway, enjoy its gorgeousness. :thumb

Thats very nice .....I agreed over the phone to buy the even rarer Nero Corsa off a chap in Suffolk quite a few years back. He’d sent me some photos that weren’t very hi res nor close up so I agreed on Saturday to come Monday after work to view with the cash. He said he had one other interested party from Cumbria but like me it was a long way to go and couldn’t get there until later in the week so the bike was mine. I called him Monday to make sure he would still be in & confirm I was definitely coming only to be told the guy from Cumbria had sent the money in full once he’d found out I would be viewing it first . Gutted :tears Ended up buying a 1200 Sport from a nice chap on here ...
