My old V65 Lario with aspirational trainee rider... fairing came from specialist supplier in Milan.

What a bike that was... can't believe I sold it.

Awaiting the delivery of my new to me (65 plate) 1200 Griso SE today. Sad news is the 1100 Griso is going in P/Ex, Private deal. The guy spent 6 mnts looking for a 1200 sport Corsa and couldn't find one so settled on this very nice very low mileage Griso. Law of sod, 10 days after purchase a very nice 1200 sport Corsa came to his attention so he bought it.
Don't know if he intends to keep the 1100 or move it on. They are definitely going up in value.

Good choice - the Griso SE versions are fine looking bikes. I went from a 1200 Griso (std model) to a 1200 Sport, which I still have. The two bikes turn out to be quite different, partly due to the riding position - perched on top on the Griso, tucked in behind a giant petrol tank on the Sport. The gear ratios are different too - the Sport has higher gearing overall and in addition has higher 5th and 6th ratios. You probably know already that the 1200 engine thrives on revs, and really comes alive above 6-7k.

Enjoy! I loved my old 1100, they really are good looking bikes and such a hoot to ride.

If you're interested I've a set of adjustable height rider pegs that I keep meaning to sell. I got them shipped in from the States and, for me, they made a real (positive) difference to the riding position.

Thanks Andres, I already have a set of lowering pegs. I thought the 1100 was a lovely bike and as soon as the fella drove away I was wondering if I'd made the right choice. I did around 150mls on the 1200 yesterday. Whilst it doesn't feel as brutal as the 1100 (which I liked) it's a great bike to look at and fabulous to ride. It's a little quicker and suspension feels light night and day compared to the 1100 although needs a bit of fine tuning for my needs. Still has the original brake pads, which will need to go, they work well but have no real feel. (Recommendations welcomed). The bike came with a load of extras, all brand new but never fitted. i.e. Arrow exhaust, oil cooler guard, fender extenda, rear hugger. I was in my shed at 4.30am yesterday getting them fitted, happy days. Six years, and a fair few quid since my first Guzzi purchase ( I do regret not discovering them earlier) I've come to the conclusion that I'm a Guzzi guy and find it hard to see anything else in my garage now. Now do I need an Eldorado...:green gri

Glad you've seen the light :D and can't fault you on fancying an Eldorado, me too; supremely stylish, cool bikes AND they are a Guzzi ~ what's not to like :)
