This is a follow up to my "Naked, cold and afraid" thread as seen here http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php/386418-Naked-cold-and-afraid

Steve brought his bike to me, all the way down from Mansfield. It had only 31 miles on the clock!

The brief was to repaint it in a scheme that would look like it was a BMW Special edition. Something that could actually be a BMW created bike.

This is how it looked when it arrived

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/29879887@N02/15985233345" title="IMG_7858 by tunneruk, on Flickr"><img src="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7536/15985233345_c90aff6709_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="IMG_7858"></a>

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/29879887@N02/15365617283" title="IMG_7883 by tunneruk, on Flickr"><img src="https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8630/15365617283_6fa3fed7b5_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="IMG_7883"></a>

Then (as many of you have already seen) Naked and afraid

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/29879887@N02/15881247021" title="IMG_8021 by tunneruk, on Flickr"><img src="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7517/15881247021_8585b53156_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="IMG_8021"></a>

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/29879887@N02/15883227285" title="IMG_8024 by tunneruk, on Flickr"><img src="https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8599/15883227285_a731f74e24_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="IMG_8024"></a>

Then I went to work with the paint gun. I must stress that the paint job is exactly that, a 'paint' job. There's not a sticker or piece of vinyl in there anywhere!

<a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/29879887@N02/15952474682" title="IMG_8064 by tunneruk, on Flickr"><img src="https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8645/15952474682_ba2101c00c_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="IMG_8064"></a>

And here she is all finished and bolted back together. I will say that unfortunately the photographs don't do the paintwork, in particular the metallic finish justice. I added a Xralic to the final finishes and it really is quite special. I dare say some of you guys will see it in the flesh, hopefully in the sunlight.

I've got a couple of videos that I've taken which emphasise the metallic finish, I'll upload them when I get home .............

And here's the man himself ...... about to load a brand spanking new, freshly painted bike into the back of a rental van using an old plank that I had lying about ...... Look at their tense faces! :D

Oh my giddy aunt. That's stunning, well apart from the wheels which aren't really to my taste but each to his own.
But the rest of it is gorgeous.

Are we allowed to ask what a re-paint like that would cost? Ball park figure obvs.

Really good job...
Nice to know, I might have some spare fairings that will need some painting at some point :)

The owner should have gone for blue wheel at the front and white one at the back. True Boxercup style!

The brief was to repaint it in a scheme that would look like it was a BMW Special edition.

I see you applied a transparent coat over the graphics... that something BMW should do.
When I had the boxercup, some of the decals got ruined over time... I always wanted to fix them and then apply a transparent coat, but never got round to it. Its new owner might do though.
He is a bit OCD about this stuff. :D

A proper rider would have rode it up that plank !

Its looks top dollar does that me old flower, not only does he get a new bike free he got a fooking wicked paint job now, that seat looks extremely nice, just needs the remaining plastics doing in carbon .

Remember steve first stone chip - scratch is always the worst !

I love it! :clap

Unique and beautifully done, in fact stunning. Congrats to the man who painted it and the bloke who now owns it. :thumb

There's no graphics on this bike fella, everything you see there is painted!

Very nice.:thumb I like the wheels. Well, I would, wouldn't I?:P

Why are the pictures all squished up?

Quality of the work looks excellent but that's one sure way to feck up a bike! Looks bloody awful

Such skill and you've fully achieved the objective :bow

Well everyone to their own, I like it, wheels an all, standard of work looks top notch, I'd have no hesitation letting you paint something for me.:thumb:thumb

As per usual, a top job done there Chris.....:thumby:

So...you did his wheels then.....:P
