Just clocked 100k miles and it's not looking bad for it

the best of them

Id say that was an 04,05 bike.

The quality of the finish was better no question.bomb proof even.

I have just clocked 110k and apart from me fucking the engine(my own fault) its just the usual wear parts.

Nearly bought a Toilet earlier this year but one of the deciding factors was durability of finish, cant see it putting up with multiple winters like mine has and not suffering badly.

some of these will be around in the next ice age I reckon.

Nov 07 build and registered Feb 08
Apart from a new final drive it's just the usual service items. It's still got the original front wheel bearings in it!
I have farkled it in places (headers, exhaus, wilbers, etc) but nothing actually broken or needing replacement

what a milestone 100k looks amazing well done

Well done :thumby:

We should form a '100k+' Club :D

117,750 on the F800GS ;)

Here's to the next 100K :beerjug:

Mine is an '07 but only 40k, a long way to go to get anywhere near some of those on here, don't think I have enough years left.. :thumby:
I've done 6k in the last two years which is a lot for me - mine has hardly any corrosion, just the stuff starting around the alternator cover at the bottom and the odd bolt head as well as that bar across the front of the oil cooler, the frame, drive and engine and spoked wheels look great.
Did the earlier bikes have better paint work?
Also touch wood - reliable too.

Looks really good.
My 2010 TC has just turned 24k miles today and its still in very good condition. Have done 11k since getting it in March and I intend to try and look after it as the miles go up.
Seeing yours makes me realise that it's possible to use it as intended and keep it looking good.

Excellent!

:beerjug:

Hope to catch you up shortly.... despite my recent lack of activity...

Must be well looked after. I'm liking the bike lift too, nice man cave you have there :-)

Cheers. I just clean it regularly and give it a liberal coat of ACF 50 once a year and GT85 after every wash. Although you really do need to keep on top of it during the winter. I have come home from London with salt literally caked on the exhaust, swinging arm and front of the engine. Rather than getting changed it got a thorough blast with the Karcher. I missed a bit and it was a bit corroded the next day.

The cave is gradually coming together. I am amassing tools and other stuff ready for the eventual step in to WC land. I am anticipating using them a lot. The next thing is a pop-up spray booth and bead blaster for repainting WC components!
