USB connection???

Just some advice really,
I was thinking of adding either a cigarette lighter socket or a usb socket to the panel under the handle bars where the wind deflectors are on my 06 GSA.I don't mind drilling the panel as I want it as a permanent fixture(for my GoPro and phone etc)
The advice I'm looking for really is who's got one fitted?has it stood the test on time? are they waterproof?,and what's the best one to buy?
I see loads on eBay but tbh I'm not sure I trust them( unless you know better)

Google some combination of waterproof, marine and usb socket and take your pick. I have one mounted near the clocks and run a lead in to my tankbag.

Keeps my sat nav or phone charged and has no issue with waterproofing as it's protected by the screen. I have mine cable tied onto the screen frame.

The beak subframe has a cut-away just for such a socket or switch.

I like the Neutrik Speakon connectors often used on professional PA systems twist to lock and built to match. Only snag is you'll have to fir a male inline to every device you want to use. This is a two pole but they do multi pole and female panel sockets.
