We're on holiday in Mallorca and have just done a days riding with Mallorquin Bikes. They hire bikes as well as guided on and off road tours.
We arrived at 09.30 and met the team led by Anke. I had 'booked' via email, no deposit taken and didn't want any money until, in her words, we were back with a beer in hand. Loads of decent, clean kit. I took a camelback which was a must as it was 36C for most of the day. I got through over five litres.
Bikes were 250 or 450 Hondas. We took the 250's. I was concerned they would lack a bit power but proved perfect for the very loose rock, shale and sand conditions. The bikes were clean and no more than eighteen months old.
We headed off at 10, immediately on the trails and rode till 13.30 with a couple of stops for water and a breather. We took in some challenging up and downhill sections as well as fire roads, single track and woods. Headed off again at 14.30 and rode until 17.30 then back at the dealer for a beer and chat.
My mate managed to drop his bike on the road on a corner covered with pine needles which was the only fall of the day. I was expecting some sort of extra for the (minor) damage but they didn't bat an eye lid. €199 for the day which I think was well worth it. I'll be coming again when it's a bit cooler.
