Does anyone know of a first aid course for bikers, coming up in the Manchester, Sheffield or Cheshire area?

Fireman has run a course before from Mossley fire station

You could check these out:

I did a course with their Irish branch about two years ago. I found it very useful. I was able to put what I learned into use earlier this year when I came on a single car collision. The first few people on the scene were standing around, unsure what to do, but because of the training, I was able to get stuck in until the emergency services arrived.

I did the same course and can recommend it. Haven't had to use it yet.

I've done the Biker Down course and recommend it - exactly what you need to render assistance at the scene until specialists arrive. Trouble is the demand means that there are not enough places and the people who run the courses, volunteers I think, seem somewhat overwhelmed. I've tried to contact the organisers in my area with a couple of queries but not received a reply - I guess they are snowed under. Their Facebook page currently reports that the organisers are on 'a sabbatical'. It's a shame!

Biker Down course are free whereas the FBOS cost money

I used to run the biker down course covering Manchester using the fire station training room. Unfortunately the job stopped me doing it as it wasn't targeting the audience they wanted. Ie 17-25 year old young drivers.
I took almost 600 riders through the course free of charge.
It was a shame but i found myself banging my head against the wall trying to deal with management.
Retired now so can't see myself doing it again...to many roads to explore.
Biker down is a great course if you can find one local

The Fire service in South Cheshire have Run a few successful ones of late

Yes Im on the Biker down course in a few weeks all free so a few hours of my time is well worth it.Ive also done the FBOS course a few years ago and it was a good event covering the basics of first aid and really great to have the training in your back pocket, Im really grateful these people give their time to train it out.

Old thread resuscitation, but worthwhile. :D

I did a FBOS training day years ago via North West BMF.

A refresher would be worth doing....where are they currently held ?
