You make a few mentions of watching your speed - are the gendarmerie so unfriendly as to curtail a bikers enjoyment?

out of the towns / villages the speed limit is 100km and they normally will only stop you if your doing over a 110km.

they have a very high accident rate
 
The Morris Oxford seems to have front seat belts and an radio aerial.
We had a 1966 version at home when I was young, which had neither, so maybe this one is a bit newer than that.

Two Austin Cambridges we had didn't have them either.

Except for public holidays when they drop the tolerance to 4kmh so max is 104kmh.
Luckily for Mike O we aren't due any till Easter
