RiDE magazine January ‘Forest Special 2018’ has a suggestion for a short(ish) - three day jaunt - of Luxembourg.

Download the routes from their website.

On the website their editor, Simon Weir (who contributes help on this site) asks that people let the magazine hear from any riders that ride the downloads, which seems only fair.

I can vouch for the mag’s confidence in suggesting all three days’ rides.

The route suggested is based on a rider staying in Luxembourg city itself; an idea that might well be abhorrent to the “I don’t do feckin’ cities, mate” brigade. Of course you are not obliged to overnight in Luxembourg itself. You could just as easily stay anywhere else on or close by the route, then ride it and stop of in Luxembourg city for say, lunch, a coffee or morning ice cream....or avoid the city entirely. The outward / return routes suggested will work just as well, no matter where on the three days of routes you decide to hitch your awsome steed for the night.

The suggestion of using Booking.com to chose a hotel that suits you if, of course, a simple but good one. Luxembourg / the Ardennes is not the tribal lands of Pakistan, all of the hotels will be pleased to see you.

+1 for the 4 day Europe on a shoestring trip.

We stayed in the Park Inn near to the railway station. It has a multi-storey car park at the rear and you can park your bike near the back within sight of the reception.

The area around the train station is pretty shit but it’s only a 5 minute walk to the old town across the bridge which really nice. The castle is worth a visit but beware if you get claustrophobic as parts of it are carved into the cliff side and the passages can get very narrow.

Also you are out of the city in around 10 minutes and onto country roads so traffics not an issue.
