I’m in the market for a GPS on my air cooled 1200 (no thumb wheel). I have narrowed it down to a 595 or Nav6. I might be changing the bike for the LC version this year so that’ll add thumb wheel compatibility but are there are significant differences/advantages between the 2 units that I should take into consideration ?

Thanks

If you can live without the thumbwheel, no.

If you want the thumbwheel, yes. The Nav VI (or even the Nav V or IV) will do you best, as the 595 won't - no matter how hard you try - link to the thumbwheel.

And you may, or may not, feel that the Nav V or VI links with the bike's computer are worthwhile

something to consider ,which I saw on a TV doc last week....if you remove your hands of the bars to move a page or something on the nav, you are committing an offence ! if Pc Plod sees you ,it could be a fine ! moving your thumb over to flick the page on the wheel might not be in the same charge ! So if you have an LC GS in the vision ,id go for the BMW Nav 5 or 6
