Just got my Zumo 550 mounted onto the bike
I'm using a TT bar mounted to the original screen / instrument hoop
Using the BMW type mount to go direct into the Garmin 4 screw powered mount unit
(It came with a ram ball and extension, but prehaps i'm wrong, but dont they defeat the security aspect?
unscrew the extension, cut the cable, and goodbye cradle & potentially nav? )
Anyway got everything mounted, and fired it up so to speak,
However at tickover , the unit has a distinct wobble / vibration, at 3k its stable but as soon as your on tickover its wobbling again.
I did think of trying the Ram ball, bit figured, the further away from the mount, the worse the vibration would be.
I also thought of moving it to the handle bars but then its not in field of view for riding..
is this normal?, how have others prevented / minimised this?
Surley it cant be good for the unit to be subject to that sort of vibration / wobble for longer periods?
