Early year RV road trip USA.

Now we started to see motorcycles + all the trailers and toy haulers.

We stayed at Crazyhorse campground arriving without a reservation $45 a night.
It's a big field with basic temporary facilities.

Mary loves shopping anyway so we stocked up, toaster, sandwich maker, hair dryer, wine glasses and the all important corkscrew

Thanks for reminding me about the corkscrew :beerjug: We’ll be starting our tour from LA in three weeks and I forgot that they still tend to cork their wine bottles. We just need to remember to stock up before we get to the Navajo Nation this time :D

I guess an RV gives you more flexibility, but isn’t it expensive compared to a nice car and stopping in motels?

I think a USA holiday works out the same cost anyway you do it.
2000 to 3000 Dollars a week.
Factor in restaurants eating is expensive.
I hate restaurants most are crap food from the freezer. You don't know how good the food is until you have eaten it.

On vacation we dont really get that hungry, with the RV we just can park outside Walmart (open 24\7) get some fresh bread and some deli stuff.
We like Taco Bell as well simple fresh food.
BTW we did the car Motel thing for 2 weeks after the RV trip.

Superb Pat, fanks for sharing it with us... :beerjug:

Would love to do the USA like that, but health insurance Costs say no...

It's getting near Daytona time again, there are worse places to be in March.

Enjoyed that - many thanks. Your RV looks rather big to me.
Savannah is lovely, as you say.

Main street is good fun, I did not do the bars, 1 beer only.
We had to use the RV as a runabout and wasn't sure I could park the bu--er near the beach.
A friendly blond transvestite parking lot attendant gave us daily parking for 10 bucks and even let us park over night near the office.
A cool chick.

We were not to sure of getting parking near the Speedway but we just rolled up at the trade entrance and asked to park.
It went like "where are you guys from?" and in we got free parking every day.
Nice guys.
I had some bitching rock blasting out of the superb sound system and i was cruising-----------------but youtube didn't like it and had to dub it over.

Test rides, I never thought about this and we did not have the gear.
We togged up enough to get rides.
All the rides are escorted except HD, we were one of the first to take a bike.

First up was the Road King, lovely but felt a bit basic. We kept it out for 2 hours:augie
Luckily when we dropped it back no one had noticed it missing.
Once you had the HD card you could take bikes out all day long.
Indians were a big heavy bike and i cannot remember much about the rides.
As will the Goldwings auto's didn't really impress on a quick spin.
Unlike the Boss Hoss, never to be forgotten, a very clever motorcycle company with a good product. This bike works and is a joy. I want one.

The HD trike was odd but the 1200 Sportster. After all the heavyweights this was a joy, basic, fast and handles well.
Thank you to the Daytona PD for giving me the stare and did not give chase to a 90mph motorcycle.

Then the daddy the HD Ultra, I am in love. This could be my next bike but I would want to buy it in the US and ride it a bit before shipping it home. An absolutely lovely motorcycle. (anyone got a 17-18 one?)
