    Give it a deep clean, a full service, fix whats broken and dont restore it. You cannot buy patina, and an unmucked about with unrestored original timewarp machine will always be worth more in the long run than a resto.

    Its only original once etc etc.....

    Given where you live, with the access to the lanes you have have got, leave the aesthetics well alone.
    Just ride it, it would be criminal not ride that for what it is.

    Very nice.
    As a young man more years ago than I care to remember, I remember seeing one being thrashed down a road near where I lived and thinking how well it went.
    I told myself I’d have one at some stage, but haven’t done it yet.
    Enjoy it as is.

    Yes, you are wrong.

    The XT isn't and never was an enduro bike.

    The D is just a model year.

    My mate had one that had been lying around for years I told him to drain the tank and carbs put new petrol in it ,make sure your getting a spark ,put a dribble of petrol down the plug hole ,he phoned me 2 hours later from casualty with his Ankle smashed to fook ,He was wearing a pair of adidas sand shoes trying tae kick it awe the same .Lovely bikes personally I would ride and enjoy it as is .
