Hmmm,the ST

I also bit the bullet and ordered a migsel stand ,as I couldn’t find a SH one.
If I’m honest,I’m a bit disappointed with the finish, considering how much they cost:blast
Having splashed out a (presumably similar?) amount I quite agree!
Might get you to refinish mine sometime.

Looking at it, i'd hazard a guess, that Mikeyboy industries could fabricate & produce something far more elegant for half the price ;)

Whilst i admire the engineering aproach to the stand (threaded rod) i cant help feel it looks a bit HR

**Edit - you posted pics after i started this reply**

Yes looks loads better after MI got to work ;)
There’s the thing, you really could not design a better stand than the migsel,(apart from the interference with the main stand, but there is bugger all can be done to address that)
When production halted for while I did think about making some ,but, essentially it would have been a bit of a copy ,which is just wrong.
I believe the manufacturer has changed,
Cos the earlier ones looked far better,no machining marks,no chuck marking..etc.
Better quality control needed,
Or refinishing after manufacturing.:augie

I have a Flying Teapot stand on my G/S and it is well made, designed and finished, and cost a fair bit less. It is not adjustable for length.
It depends on the rear engine mount bolt and the footrest pivot bolt for support so it is a bit neater than the Migsel.

I made my own for the R100GS, and even using a stand cut from a wrecked trail bike as a basis there is a fair amount of work in one, so hand made one at a time 240 quid might be reasonable.

My R75/7 has a Micky Mouse thing bought from 'works or 'bins which depends on the exhaust pipe to stop it rotating, cant even remember the name but not recommended!

The work Richie has done on the s/arm is very good the welding is something to behold, if I could weld at a 10th of that standard I would be happy, instead mine looks like something even Stevie Wonder would be embarrassed by (If he welded).

Barny

I made my own for my G/s out of stainless bits that were lying around, subsequently painted black,

Starting to get close with this fine machine,
Anyone interested in owning it needs to shout up before I order a shock and send it for its exhaust to be made.
So I can spec the suspension and decide on the final build equipment :thumby:

Looks great Mike, you have done a good job on this one. Looks like a cross between an HPN and Rich Moore. 1000cc good suspension, what’s not to like.

I like this bike a lot,tempted to keep it,,,,lol
It will be a nice torquey motor, not to focused as either road or off road, the suspension will be head and shoulders better than the original stuff,
Reworked smaller port heads with 1000 cc pistons and 32 bings ,yum yum.:D

Hi Mikeyboy
Do you remove the bearings when you get the swinging arm powder coated? or are they old ones that will be replaced after it's back?
Cheers
Stuart
On a brighter note,I have a swinging arm and propshaft back from Richie Moore.
Proper job:bow
