GARELLI TIGER CROSS

Another step closer!

So, decided to build the shock absorbers today.

Step by step and the last ones of the sprocket plate cleaned up on the lathe. Like i said before, it would be easy to just replace all these bits but then it wouldn't be the same bike would it?

A bit off topic - but what lathe is that ??

Bob (going through a lathe kick at the moment - having just bought my third :blast)

Thanks!

Its a Warco CT918 not a Rolls-Royce but a decent machine for what i want to do with it!

The spring compressor looks much more substantial, and safer, than two tyre levers in the spring and two brush handles wedged under the bench pressing down..

That's a new one on me - I have a Warco 280V-F - its a bit cheap and cheerful but OK with patience. I'm now refurbishing a 1977 Colchester Triumph 2000 - 50" metric model (all 1.3 tons of it). Serious stuff :augie.

Bob.

OK, Its been a while, but now i have some time on my hands.....

Wheels are done and tyres on. Toolbox needs painting and wiring fitted up, then we are done!!!

Really nice job, looking forward to it being finished

An momentous occasion today, I removed the starter gear and polished up (it was showing corrosion and it can be seen!), did the wiring, the side stand, pedals and foot pegs. And it now on its wheels!!

Toolbox will be attacked tomorrow, then the tank and seat bolted on. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread its like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, how right they were!!

Fantastic - where did those last 42 years go since i first got mine ?...MWP 472P,bought in birmingham for 250 quid.

Glad you put the right bars on it - its going to look great..

Looking good Smudger and never been a better time to complete those rebuilds

Steve

Right, I've got to take the toolbox back off to paint it, get some cable to re-wire the rear light, but i am waiting for a part so i'll do that at a later date.

IT'S DONE!!

Lots of work, some easy, some tough, all enjoyable. Thanks to all those words of encouragement! I give you the 1977 Garelli Tiger Cross..

What a contrast to your other bikes, brilliant, next a video of you riding around the garden in a faded denim jacket and flares. Mullet or feather hairstyle an optional extra.
